Biography

J. Gary Lanthrum is the director of the Office of National Transportation for the Civilian Radioactive Waste Management Program at the U.S. Department of Energy. Gary is responsible for developing the transportation infrastructure for shipments of spent nuclear fuel to Yucca Mountain. Before joining the waste management program, Gary was the director of the National Transportation Program in Albuquerque, and was responsible for a suite of transportation and packaging services to DOE, including satellite tracking of transuranic waste and spent nuclear fuel shipments. Gary has provided more than 30 years of service and leadership in the nuclear industry.
